World Environment Day: Cinema XXI Campaigns for "Bring Your Tumbler, Save The Planet"

To celebrate World Environment Day, PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya Tbk (Cinema XXI) has unveiled the “Bring Your Tumbler, Save the Planet” campaign. This initiative aims to raise awareness of waste, especially single-use plastics, by encouraging everyone to make small, meaningful changes in their daily routines.

From May 5 to June 5, 2026, movie lovers across the country are invited to join the movement at every Cinema XXI location by swapping single-use cups for reusable tumblers. Customers can bring their own tumblers filled with water, and those who use them for drinks bought at the cinema will enjoy a 30% discount.

This initiative marks an important first step toward fostering sustainable habits, resulting in a reduction of over 20,000 single-use plastic packages, equivalent to 400 kg of plastic. Promoting tumbler use not only decreases packaging waste but also raises collective awareness of environmental protection.

With this campaign, Cinema XXI aims to create a moviegoing experience that delights audiences while leaving a lasting, positive impact on the environment.

After the campaign period, Cinema XXI will resume its regular policy on outside food and drinks. This policy remains a standard operating procedure across all Cinema XXI locations.

In the past, Cinema XXI has launched a range of sustainability efforts, including upcycling old cinema screens into stylish XXI Screen Bags, giving new life to seat covers as versatile products, and collecting used cooking oil to turn it into biofuel feedstock.
